Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are always a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles available, but there must be something which you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? A thing that triggered a transformation or even a major healing. So, the thing that was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think about your lifetime as it appears to be nowadays with regards to the story. How do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who’s my source?” So when we discuss the last stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon many of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s similar to building a big house of cards, stacking on a single card after the other. a course in miracles Then the good wind occurs and poof, it’s just blown over. It can’t even stand only a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon the rest; all those things that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It really comes right down to the essence of who’s my brother? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this one?So you’re asking the question, “If someone dies or appears to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will highlight is that everything is mental and that everything is a hallucination. That is a full world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to construct his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the text between thought and form. His lessons begin with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all the meaning it’s for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number 4, “These thoughts do not mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s discussing thoughts. First He’s discussing perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes back with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts do not mean anything.” You can see he’s attempting to melt everything together and show the last veil or stage of awakening, that will be trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time for you to teach us there’s no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that’s the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us that they are all illusions and that they are all equally meaningless. That’s exactly the method of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with the mind to loosen the attachments from the investment in all sorts of things. What sort of things would you invest in, nowadays?
